In the early to mid 1900’s, the television emerged as a powerful tool and with that came the shift of the way information and entertainment, was consumed. The news was brought into living rooms across the nation with real-time footage on television. This convenience created a model of social change to which the Americans could experience historical events together, like the Civil Rights Movement and the first moonwalk. TV is also a visual medium, which pulls a more emotional response and more empathy for the situations, and therefore more urgency for social justice.
